2 men arrested after drug bust at Lem Turner smoke shop

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office seized multiple pounds of illegal drugs, five firearms and thousands of dollars in cash following a bust at a smoke shop off Lem Turner Road on Sunday.

Officers responded to the shop on March 29 after receiving information that a wanted drug trafficker from Gainesville was inside. When they arrived, officers found illegal drugs and guns in plain sight.

Among the items seized were approximately 600 grams of meth pills, 500 grams of meth crystals, three grams of cocaine, 10 pounds of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, five firearms and $8,000 in cash.

Frank Maddox, 21, was arrested along with Anthony Denson, 33, who faces multiple drug offense charges related to the case.

“We won’t stand for anyone pushing poison in our community,” SJO said. “Our officers are vigilant against narcotics offenses, and if you’re dealing drugs, we will find and stop you.”
