Man shot during domestic dispute in Northwest Jacksonville: JSO

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was shot in the leg early Friday morning following a domestic dispute in Northwest Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Officers responded to a report of a person shot on 13th Street West around 3 a.m. Police said a man in his late 30s, sustained a gunshot wound to his left leg.

Jacksonville Fire and Rescue transported the man to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators say the victim and suspect were inside a residence when an argument escalated into a shooting. They said both parties are known to each other and are involved in a domestic relationship.

“This appears to be an isolated incident without further threat to the community,” said Sgt. Smith with JSO’s Robbery and Violent Crimes Unit.

Crime scene detectives are processing the scene for evidence, while Robbery and Violent Crimes detectives are interviewing witnesses and canvassing for video surveillance footage.
