CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – A missing 16-year-old girl is back home safe after a days-long search in Clay County that sparked a statewide missing child alert and an outpouring of community support.

The teen had been missing for several days from the Grand Teton Drive area of Middleburg.

News4JAX was on the scene speaking with the teen’s family when she quietly walked home just after dark, around 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Her father, who asked not to be identified, described the moment as something out of a movie. He was visibly shaken when she finally came home.

“A lot of people were scared. And I’m just so thankful for the Lord for the people, his people that were praying in the community on Facebook, all over the place, just praying for our family, praying for the community and community coming together and bringing her back home,” her father said.
