PGA Tour lays off 56 full-time employees, won’t fill 73 open roles: report

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – The PGA Tour laid off about 4% of its workforce on Thursday, according to a report from Sports Business Journal.

PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp sent a memo to staff, according to SBJ, explaining the decision to lay off 56 full-time employees and not fill 73 open roles that had been posted. The layoffs are expected to be tour-wide.

The PGA Tour confirmed Thursday’s moves to News4JAX but declined to comment publicly.

According to SBJ, the tour plans to reallocate some of the lost positions and reinvest in 30-plus new full-time roles, including some senior-level jobs.
