Months after Sheriff T.K. Waters announced that a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office employee had been claiming overtime pay while he was actually having a romantic relationship with his supervisor, News4JAX has now learned what happened to the supervisor.
The relationship came to light when Officer Christian Madsen was arrested in February on felony charges tied to alleged false overtime claims, totalling more than $14,000.

Waters acknowledged when he announced the arrest that during at least some of those claims, Madsen was actually at the home of his supervisor, Chief of Patrol Support Jaime Eason, and the two had a romantic relationship.
Waters said at the time that Eason, who in 2022 was the first woman appointed as chief over the entire patrol division, had resigned her position as chief of patrol support, “after a long conversation in my office.”
He also said that Eason, who started at JSO in 1999, was going through an “administrative process” but declined to share further details about any possible punishment for Eason.
News4JAX has since learned through a records request that an in-house complaint for unbecoming conduct was filed against Eason on Feb. 25, one day before Waters announced Madsen’s arrest.
That complaint was sustained, meaning JSO found the complaint had merit, and Eason received informal counseling.
She is now listed as a police lieutenant with JSO.
JSO’s Code of Ethics addresses sexual misconduct in a section entitled “Constraints on Behavior”:
“a. Unless in the performance of official duties, members shall not participate or engage in any sexual activity while on duty, including the exchange of messages or media of a sexual nature.
b. Members shall not engage in any immoral, indecent, lewd, or disorderly conduct while on or off duty."
The code also includes the following:
“… I will keep my private life unsullied as an example to all; …”
Madsen was suspended following his arrest, and Waters said the agency would seek his termination.
