Middleton Burney on lockdown due to unrelated incident near school, no danger to students or staff

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. – Middleton Burney in Crescent City is on lockdown as a precaution due to an unrelated event near the school and there is no danger to students or staff, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said.
There was a burglary nearby and the suspect is potentially armed, officials said. Deputies are searching and clearing the area before the lockdown will be lifted.
