JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville man was hospitalized Saturday morning after he was shot in the leg during a confrontation at a party, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JSO said officers responded at approximately 5:45 a.m. to the 4500 block of Wrico Drive, where they located a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper thigh.

Jacksonville Fire and Rescue transported the victim to a local hospital, where his injuries are listed as non-life-threatening, JSO said.
According to JSO, the victim had been at a nearby party at an unknown location when two unknown males confronted him. The victim told investigators one of the men brandished a firearm and shot him once in the leg before both suspects fled on foot.
JSO said the victim indicated the shooting occurred around midnight, though police were not notified until several hours later.
Detectives canvassed the area where the incident allegedly occurred but were unable to locate a crime scene, according to JSO. The victim could only provide limited information.
The only suspect description provided to JSO is two Black males. Their direction of travel is unknown.
