Fight leads to deadly shooting in Jacksonville’s St. Nicholas neighborhood

Jacksonville, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly shooting that police say began as a fight. The incident occurred on Mayfair Road in the St. Nicholas neighborhood at approximately 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
The victim was transported to the hospital, where he died. Police are still searching for the suspect, who fled the scene following the shooting.
JSO has characterized the shooting as an isolated incident, saying there is no threat to the public. Detectives continue to search for evidence and video surveillance footage that could assist in the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office or submit a tip through Crime Stoppers.
