JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp are serving up another packed week of promotions, community celebrations and fan-favorite events as they host the Norfolk Tides from May 19–24 at VyStar Ballpark.
The homestand is highlighted by the return of the popular Honey Drippers Weekend, along with themed nights, giveaways and special appreciation events throughout the week.
Tuesday: Cats take over the ballpark
May 19 at 7:05 p.m.
Tuesday’s game features the return of Purr in the Park, one of the most unique nights of the season.
Last year, fans brought 40 cats to the ballpark, and the Jumbo Shrimp are hoping to break that record this season.
The night also includes:
- Stahl Meyer Two for Tuesday, featuring two hot dogs for $2
- Charity Begins at Home, partnering with Mayo Clinic Jacksonville to raise awareness and funds through ticket sales and promotions
Wednesday: Midday baseball and community support
May 20 at 12:05 p.m.
Wednesday’s matinee features the return of the Yuengling Business Person Special, offering bundled food-and-drink ticket packages for fans looking to spend lunch at the ballpark.
The Jumbo Shrimp will also partner with Operation Homefront for another Charity Begins at Home night focused on community impact.
Thursday: Filipino Heritage Night and happy hour
May 21 at 7:05 p.m.
Fans can celebrate Filipino Heritage Night on Thursday as the Jumbo Shrimp recognize Filipino culture and community contributions.
The game also features Coors Light Thirsty Thursday, with discounted draft beer specials available throughout VyStar Ballpark.
Friday: EMS appreciation and giveaway night
May 22 at 7:05 p.m.
Friday night honors local emergency medical workers during EMS Appreciation Night.
Fans arriving early can score a Jumbo Shrimp hat giveaway, with the first 2,000 fans through the Main Gate receiving a free hat presented by UF Health.
Additional Friday promotions include:
- Friday Night Lites Happy Hour with discounted drinks until 7:30 p.m.
- Red Shirt Friday, where fans wearing red receive a ticket discount in support of the military
Saturday: Honey Drippers Weekend returns!
May 23 at 6:35 p.m.
One of the Jumbo Shrimp’s most recognizable alternate identities returns Saturday as the team transforms into the Jacksonville Honey Drippers.
The themed weekend pays tribute to the frozen treat enjoyed across the South and celebrated in Jacksonville as a “Honey Dripper.”
Fans can expect:
- Players wearing colorful Honey Drippers jerseys and caps
- A Honey Dripper Pre-Party beginning at 4 p.m. at the Baptist Health Centerfield Plaza
- Music from DJ Nandi and festivities at Honey Dripper House
The first 2,000 fans through the Main Gate will also receive a double-sided Honey Drippers sunshield giveaway, presented by Arlington Toyota and VyStar Credit Union.
Sunday: Honey Drippers finale and military appreciation
May 24 at 6:35 p.m.
Honey Drippers Weekend continues Sunday night alongside CSX Corporation Military Appreciation Day.
The Jumbo Shrimp will provide complimentary tickets — subject to availability — for active-duty military members, veterans and their families.
Sunday also includes the team’s weekly family-friendly traditions:
- Baptist Health Sunday Family FUNday, featuring catch on the field, face painting and balloon animals
- Kids Run the Bases after the game
