ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A 6-year-old St. Augustine boy and his sister are recovering from serious injuries after an e-bike crash, according to a GoFundMe.

Saquon Wilson was riding with his older sister near their home when the bike “either hit a bump or stopped suddenly,” throwing both children forward, the family said. Wilson’s head struck the asphalt and caused a severe injury.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors found brain swelling and serious injuries near his eye before performing surgery, the GoFundMe reads.

Wilson told his family that he was scared and could not see clearly. Specialists and plastic surgeons have been called in because of the severity of the head wound.

His sister is recovering from cuts, bruises and a mouth injury.

The Wilson family is asking for help due to the unexpected expenses of the incident and the related treatment.
