JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – New details were released after a 27-year-old Twin Lakes Academy Middle School guard was arrested Friday and charged with lewd or lascivious conduct by an authority figure involving a student, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

The arrest report said that Jon Kee Jr. messaged the student on Instagram after the student saw him working at a Circle K convenience store, offered the student free drinks and snacks, hugged the student and exchanged text messages and phone calls that turned inappropriate. Police recorded a phone call and interviewed the student as part of the probe, the report said.

Kee was interviewed by detectives after being advised of his Miranda rights and agreed to speak without an attorney, the sheriff’s office said. He was arrested on a charge under Florida Statute 800.101(2)(c), a second-degree felony.

Kee has worked at Twin Lakes since February 2022. He started as an office assistant and then transitioned into a security guard in July 2024.

Police said there was no indication of weapons, drugs or domestic violence in the case.

Twin Lakes Principal Aurelia Williams sent out a statement to parents after learning Kee was arrested.
