Driver rescued after car lands in St. Johns River near MOSH

3 police officers rushed to help driver

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A driver had to be rescued after a car landed in the St. Johns River on Tuesday night near the Museum of Science and History, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

An investigator with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said three officers jumped into the water to save the man who was inside.

The driver was freed from the car and taken to a hospital for treatment. He was expected to be OK.

It's unclear how the car ended up in the river. Crews have since removed the car from the water.
