Man shot in leg in Panama Park

Gunshots reported before 11 p.m.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was shot in the leg in the Panama Park area late Wednesday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police responded to East 43rd Street shortly before 11 p.m. after receiving a report of gunshots.

Upon arriving, officers determined a man had been shot and drove himself to UF Health Jacksonville. He was being treated for a non-life-threatening injury.

It's unknown how many shots were fired.

JSO aggravated battery detectives are investigating the case.
