The Morning Show is featuring a series aimed at keeping your children safe.
Parents, you should know that with today’s technology, your kids could be in danger without even leaving home.
Dangers lurk online and in the video games your kids play for fun.
Fortunately, some free apps can help you monitor what your kids are doing and who they are communicating with.
If your kids have a Nintendo Switch, there is a free app that allows you to set screen time limits and see who they’re talking to.
You can also restrict video chat.
Just search “Nintendo Switch Parental Controls.”
Microsoft also has a similar app.
It’s called “Microsoft Family Safety” in your app store.
It’s also free and works for Xbox.
Sony’s PlayStation 4 doesn’t have a standalone app for controlling kids’ screen time like the Xbox and Nintendo Switch, but it does feature settings built into the console that can be accessed in Settings.
Another great resource: the Google Family Link app is a free tool that parents can use to control apps their children download. It can also limit screen time.
And if you are looking for an app that monitors your child’s social media accounts, we had a hard time finding completely free options.
Many offer free trials, then require a monthly subscription.
