Construction accident caused man's death in Jacksonville Heights

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The man found dead Monday afternoon at property on Alvin Road, off Sandler Road, was caught under a front-end loader, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. 

Police said they were called about 5:30 p.m. about a man found behind a barn near some heavy equipment. Detectives have not identified the man, but said he was not the owner of the property.

Multiple crime-scene investigators processed the scene, causing neighboring property owners to take notice.

"We were all sitting back thinking someone had a heat stroke or something, but evidently it’s a lot more than that," Michael Bragg said.
