Woman shot inside Arlington apartment dies from injuries

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office working to track down shooter

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A woman was found shot in Arlington on Monday evening and later died from her injuries, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Investigators were called to the scene on Justina Road just north of Justina Road Elementary School at about 8 p.m. According to Sgt. Doug Molina, it appears the woman was shot inside an apartment.

Molina said it's unclear how many shots were fired, but residents in the area reported the gunfire.

Earlier in the evening, officers were sent to investigate a separate shooting in the Ribault neighborhood.
