Path to the Polls: Is Trump his own worst enemy? Some in his own camp say he might be
Former President Donald Trump is up in the polls. If the election were held today it looks like he’s in the driver’s seat and has the edge against an unpopular incumbent.
But his problems -- many of his own making -- are mounting. The news cycles are negative. Even some within his own ranks admit that the most likely person to defeat Trump, at this point, is Trump.
Look at the headlines. He’s had to recant comments about cutting Social Security -- not for the first time.
He’s offended Jewish voters and said if he’s not re-elected there would be a bloodbath , though he said that comment was taken out of context. That’s arguable.
Campaign coffers are running low , and there’s the whole issue of not having the ”personal fortune” he said he had to post the bond in his civil suit. Although an appeals court has reduced that bond by some 60% . We’ll see if the former president meets the deadline to come up with the money or has to fork over more substantial assets.
It’s all fodder on Tuesday’s episode of “Vote 2024: Path to the Polls” with guest News4JAX political analyst and head of the Jacksonville University Public Policy Institute Rick Mullaney. Watch any time On Demand on News4JAX+ , the News4JAX YouTube Channel or press play above.
