The weather was sunny and beautiful in Orlando, Florida yesterday, approximately 85 degrees.
Artwork from local elementary school students is featured at the Seminole County Board of elections office in Florida. The county is currently looking for more Spanish speaking poll workers to assist voters in upcoming elections.
Elementary school artwork is framed at the Seminole County Election Commissioners office in Orlando, Fla. The county needs more Spanish speaking poll workers for upcoming elections to assist individuals throughout the region. Large numbers of people are moving to Florida from Puerto Rico after hurricanes. As a result, ballots in the November general election will be bilingual due to the amount of people speaking Spanish as their main language in Florida.
Voting could become easier for Spanish speaking people in Florida. Seminole County needs poll workers who can speak Spanish to assist people with voting, many of whom have moved to the Orlando, Fla. area from Puerto Rico after hurricanes. Yhoselyn Andrade from Mifamilia Vota, an organization that assists Hispanic voters chatted with News6 reporter Catherine Silver on Wednesday about the challenges that Spanish speaking voters face.
