Beans was adopted from Animal Care and Protective Services in September 2024. We met him in January 2024, he was the first dog that we took out for Dog Day Out, a program at ACPS where you can take a shelter dog out for the day. He came into the shelter in October 2023, at 46 pounds, (he now weighs 60 pounds) with skin problems and heartworm positive. He experienced severe kennel stress while at the shelter, was (thankfully) fostered and treated for heartworms, then later adopted by us in September when we learned that he was still available and we were looking to adopt. He recently celebrated his first Christmas in a home and was also recently officially declared heartworm free. He’s gentle, sweet, and spoiled rotten and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
