Our precious Sugar.
This is my great uncle, Alfred R Dunlap, fallen of WW2. His sister(my grandmother) said that at 14 years old, Alfred lied about his age and volunteered to fight in the war. After four days in combat in Italy, he was killed. This past March we visited his grave at the American cemetery in Florence, Italy. We may be the only family who have ever visited him. The picture on his Cross is from his sister’s 90th birthday party, we wanted to bring a part of his larger family with us. We were saddened to see the loss of a young life, but grateful and honored to pay our respects.
