Our kids know all about these, so News4Jax runs a contest each year to for them to create positive message that could help their peers deal with these problems.

Students in grades 5-12 created a storyboard for a 30-second public service announcement (PSA) on an issue they feel is important to teens. (Topic not limited to examples above).

The PSA concept must be an original idea. Individuals or a team of students (not more than three per team) enrolled in public, private or home schools in the Jacksonville, Florida, television market were eligible.

The winning submissions will had their entry professional produced to air on WJXT Channel 4, ThisTV Jacksonville and News4Jax.com.

This year, 48 entries were received and two winners selected:

Mandarin Middle School Sticky Situations by Lilleth Colado Mrs. Jennifer Prescott, teacher Watch winning PSA   St. Johns Technical High School Safe Driving by Lorin Capallia Mrs. Megan Young, Teacher Watch winning PSA
