JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Young women who are serving God through their faith were honored at the Mary Awards in Mandarin Thursday evening.
Channel 4’s Mary Baer hosted the second annual Mary Awards at the San Jose Country Club.
St. Vincent's Healthcare created the awards to recognize and honor high school senior girls of every faith who excel in their efforts to make a difference in five counties of Northeast Florida.

The event is named after the Virgin Mary, who followed the laws of her faith and served God with her whole being.
There were 16 finalists in four categories who attended the ceremony.
In the category of academics, Cassia Wang was the winner and in athletics category, Annie Pipkin took the prize.
In the category of leadership, Abbey Fagan won the Mary Award and for volunteerism and philanthropy, Catherine Maige was the winner.
Each one of the winners took home a $1,000 prize.
