River City Swim League Championships begin
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – 209 swimmers six years-old and under were in the pool today as the River City Swim League championships got underway.
17 area teams with over 1,400 swimmers will compete the next three days at the Cecils Aquatics center.
The Championships began in the late 60's to promote the benefits of swimming and to give kids a sense of community.
It has evolved into the biggest swim meet in the Jacksonville area every summer.
The meet begins at 4:30 pm on Friday. Saturday is a double session beginning at 8:30 am and noon. Sunday is a morning session beginning at 9:30 am.
