JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Sunday fun day, and it felt like the day Jags fans had been waiting for.
A little bit of a Travis Hunter coming-out party! Hunter spent the day with the defense, and it was a no-fly zone. I have been doing these daily mailbag questions over on X, and one of the questions a few days ago was, had we seen Hunter vs. Brian Thomas Jr.?

Well at the time, the answer was no. Well, now the answer is yes, and Hunter won the matchup with a diving pass breakup in the end zone from Hunter. It might have been the play of day because of the guys involved. Hunter also got his hands on two other passes but just couldn’t quite reel in an interception. That would have put a bow on the day. But it was a strong day from Hunter on defense and a solid bounce-back day from the offense.
QB tracker
Trevor Lawrence: 17 of 23, TD
Nick Mullens: 7 of 15
John Wolford: 3 of 6
Nothing crazy to write home about from the guys on offense, but overall a productive day and a good bounce back after struggling on Friday.

📓📓Notebook 📓📓
- No Patrick Mekari, Buster Brown or Johnny Mundt at practice.
- Chuma Edoga slid inside to guard with Mekari sidelined.
- Arik Armstead took some team reps during practice. Good to see the vet getting more in the mix.
- Armstead and Dawuane Smoot spent some time paired on the interior of the D-line. Could be a pairing to watch for on passing downs.
- Travon Walker had a good day. Walker batted a pass at the line and had a would-be sack.
- Another day, another diving PBU from Jourdan Lewis. He has looked good. Day in and day out, he just seems to keep making plays on the ball. The Lewis free agent signing looks like one that will be paying big dividends this season.
- The rookie running back making their presence known. Bhayshul Tuten and LeQuint Allen both popped out for big plays, showing how shifty they can be. They both still have a ways to go to earn a big role in the rotation, but the flashes are there.
- Ton of hype around Tuten since the Jaguars drafted him. During the Jaguars first organized team activities day, he fumbled his first snap. That’s not the first carry anyone had in mind, but Tuten said it was getting used to the speed, and he has been working on it. “Knock on wood, but one has been on the ground since,” he said.
- Safety rotation continues. It was an Andrew Wingard day. Dewey spent the day paired with Eric Murray. So far, Dewey, Darnell Savage, and Antonio Johnson have all been rotating. Looks like a three-man race right now, but Caleb Ransaw still has time to push his way into the conversation.
