JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Nine area volleyball teams are headed for the second round of the state playoffs.
Beachside and Middleburg set up an all-local regional semifinal with sweeps in the opening round. The Barracudas (25-3) rolled past Tallahassee Leon, while the Broncos (18-10) swept past Mosley.

In Region 1-4A, Wolfson continued its superb season with a sweep of Bolles. The Wolfpack improved to an area-best 19-1.
In Region 1-1A, Beaches Chapel upset Christ’s Church 3-2 to move into the second round.
All second-round matches are Saturday.
