Harvest Community volleyball team falls in state semifinal

The Harvest Community volleyball team came up agonizingly short in its state semifinal quest on Tuesday.

St. Edward’s edged the Warriors 3-2 in the Class 1A final four game at Polk State College, including 16-14 in the decisive fifth game.

St. Edward’s held on for a 25-19, 16-25, 18-25, 25-14, 16-14 win in the after clash. The Warriors finished their season 21-10. Harvest was the area’s last volleyball team remaining in the playoffs.

Taylor Marts had 25 kills to lead the Warriors at the net. Elina Adihikari added 13 kills and 13 digs. Pria Adihkari led Harvest with 26 digs.

The Warriors reached the state semifinals once before, winning in 2018 before falling to Geneva in the championship.
