1. (1) Jackson (11-1, Class 3A)

Quality wins: Bolles, Fleming Island, Florida High, Northside Christian, Ponte Vedra, Providence, Ribault.

Notable: The Tigers went 2-1 since our last Super 6, including a 62-60 loss to Impact Christian. They bounced back with a 64-56 high quality W over Northside Christian, and followed that with a 70-51 win over Jenkins. Donald Hackworth (15.4 ppg, 7.4 rpg) and Javion Davis (14.6 ppg, 4.3 rpg) lead Jackson into the new year. I kept them at No. 1 due to their head-to-head win over No. 2 Providence, which is a team that has also beaten Impact.

2. (2) Providence (12-2, Class 2A)

Quality wins: Baldwin, Ga., Bolles, Impact Christian, St. Augustine, Tocoi Creek, Windermere.

Notable: The Stallions have won nine straight, including quality Ws over Pine Ridge (76-42) and Baldwin (56-52) since our last Super 6. They’re back in action later this month. William Stewart (15.9 ppg, 6.6 rpg), Marvin Christie (13.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg) and Ryan Gornto (11.9 ppg) are leading the way for the Stallions.

3. (3) Impact Christian (11-1, Class 1A)

Quality wins: Baldwin, Ga., Coral Glades, Creekside, Episcopal, Jackson, Potter’s House, Raines.

Notable: A case can be made for Impact at No. 1. They handed No. 1 Jackson a 62-60 loss and followed that up with a high quality W over Baldwin (61-46). They’ll be tested after Christmas during a national event in Houston, but they are good. Their only loss is to No. 2 Providence. Ronald Clark (14.9 ppg), Frandy Perez (11.4 ppg, 6.8 rpg), Mechack Olungu (10.5 ppg, 9.9 rpg) and Jeremiah Jones (10.2 ppg) continue to shoulder the load for the Lions.

4. (4) Tocoi Creek (7-2, Class 6A)

Quality wins: Bishop Kenny, Episcopal, Milton.

Notable: Smooth sailing into the Christmas break for the Toros. They hammered Matanzas (69-37) in their lone game since our last Super 6. King McFadden has powered the Tocoi Creek offense this season.

5. (5) Bishop Kenny (10-2, Class 4A)

Quality wins: Creekside, Ponte Vedra, Sandalwood.

Notable: The Crusaders had just one game since our last Super 6, a 58-41 win over Bishop Snyder. They’re off until Dec. 29 when they face Sebring. Good start to the season for Jerry Buckley’s Crusaders.

6. (6) Fleming Island (8-3, Class 5A)

Quality wins: Auburndale, Columbia, Oakleaf, Ribault, Tocoi Creek.

Notable: The Golden Eagles have won four straight since their only local loss to Jackson. They added a solid W over Auburndale since our last Super 6. They’ll be tested next at the Kingdom of the Sun tournament in Ocala. Carson Crawford (17.2 ppg, 8.1 rpg) is getting better and better.
