Rank, school, record, classification

T1. (T1) Jackson (23-1, Class 3A)

Quality wins: Atlantic Coast, Bolles, Fleming Island, Florida High, Godby, Leon, Mainland, Northside Christian, Ponte Vedra, Providence, Raines, Ribault (twice), Rock National, Sandalwood, University Christian.

Notable: The Tigers stretched their winning streak to 14 games with a romp through the Gateway Conference tournament, capped by a 76-40 blowout of Atlantic Coast in the championship. Jackson did get a bit of a test from Ribault in the semis (64-57). Donald Hackworth (15.3 ppg, 6.5 rpg), Javion Davis (15.2 ppg, 4.5 rpg) and King Sanders (11.6 ppg, 4.3 rpg) are all in double figures for the Tigers.

T1. (3) Providence (20-3, Class 2A)

Quality wins: Atlantic, Baldwin, Ga., Bartow, Bishop Kenny, Bolles, Coral Gables, Impact Christian, Northside Christian, Ponte Vedra, Raines, St. Augustine, Tocoi Creek, University Christian, Windermere.

Notable: The Stallions have won eight consecutive games, including an 18-point W over Ponte Vedra and a 67-46 romp over Atlantic since our last Super 6. In hindsight, I should have moved the Stallions into at least a T-1 with Impact and Jackson last week. The Stallions are deep enough to win a state title. William Stewart (14.7 ppg, 6.2 rpg), Marvin Christie (13.5 ppg, 6 rpg), Nolan Nelson (13 ppg, 11.5 rpg) and Ryan Gornto (12 ppg) are averaging in double figures. Nelson has played in just four games since his transfer back, but he’s a terror and averaging a double-double.

3. (T1) Impact Christian (19-3, Class 1A)

Quality wins: Baldwin, Ga., Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech, Coral Glades, Creekside, Episcopal, Fleming Island, Jackson, Marian (Texas), Potter’s House, Raines, St. Johns (Texas), San Jose Prep, Village (Texas).

Notable: The Lions went 1-1 since our last Super 6, beating Bilingual Academy & Tech (70-61) and losing to Class 3A school Tampa Catholic (61-59). Not concerned at all with a loss like that to a larger program. Two big opponents left this week in Ponte Vedra (Tuesday) and Providence (Friday). The Lions have a squad that should reach the final four. Ronald Clark (14.6 ppg), Frandy Perez (12.5 ppg, 6 rpg), Jeremiah Jones (11.9 ppg) and Mechack Olungu (10.2 ppg, 9.7 rpg) are leading the way for Impact.

4. (4) Tocoi Creek (18-4, Class 6A)

Quality wins: Bishop Kenny, Boca Ciega, Christian Academy-Louisville (Kentucky), Episcopal, Milton, San Jose Prep, Sandalwood, University Christian.

Notable: The Toros stacked solid Ws over San Jose Prep (101-74) and Sandalwood (67-34) since our last Super 6. Their one big test remaining is Nease on Friday. King McFadden is leading the Toros in scoring (19.5 ppg) and on the boards (6.4 rpg), and has done the heavy lifting there all season. Daniel Figueroa (12.8 ppg, 4.5 rpg), Marc Mitchell (11.9 ppg, 5.2 rpg) and Javares Rickerson (11.7 ppg, 6.4 rpg) round out a quality quartet of the Toros.

5. (5) Bishop Kenny (19-3, Class 4A)

Quality wins: Atlantic Coast, Creekside, Discovery, Episcopal, Nease, Orange Park, Ponte Vedra, Sandalwood.

Notable: The Crusaders have won four straight since a loss to Providence, including two quality Ws since our last Super 6. Kenny topped previously ranked Episcopal (50-45) and Orange Park (62-53). They round out the regular season with Parker (Tuesday) and Bolles (Friday).

6. (NR) Ponte Vedra (15-6, Class 5A)

Quality wins: Beachside, Central Florida Christian, Columbia, Creekside, Legacy Charter, Nease, San Jose Prep, Saraland (Ala.), University Christian.

Notable: The Sharks are back in the Super 6 as they make their traditional late season charge under head coach Ben Wilson. They’ve got a pair of tight four-point losses to Bishop Kenny and Jackson, a three-point L to Nease and an 18-point loss to Providence. Maddox Palmer (21.7 ppg, 7.1 rpg) has been excellent this season. The Sharks get the nod this week over Fleming Island
