JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Beachside and Mandarin are headed to the boys soccer state semifinals.
The Barracudas topped Booker T. Washington 2-1 to win the Region 1-5A championship on Tuesday night. Beachside will play its first state semifinal game in program history on Feb. 27 at Spec Martin Stadium in DeLand.

In Region 1-6A, Mandarin used a suffocating defense to beat South Lake 1-0 and win its second consecutive region title. The Mustangs played for the state championship last year and will try and get back to that final game. It’s been a trying season for the Mustangs as injuries piled up, but head coach Jason Cooley and Mandarin muscled up down the stretch. They’ll play on Monday in DeLand.
