JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The area’s three reigning girls soccer state champions opened defense of those titles with dominant wins in the opening round of the state playoffs.
Bartram Trail romped past Lake Minneola 5-0 in Region 1-6A, Ponte Vedra set out on its quest for a threepeat with a 3-0 win over St. Augustine in Region 1-5A and St. Johns Country Day walloped St. Johns Paul II 8-0 in Region 1-1A to kick off the postseason.
