JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The boys high school basketball state semifinals are set and five local teams are headed to the final four in their backyard.
Bishop Kenny, Fleming Island, Impact Christian, Jackson and Providence wrapped up regional final championships on Saturday night and punched their tickets for the state round at UNF.
Impact and Jackson return to the final four. The Lions pulled away from NFEI in Region 1-1A for a 61-46 win. Impact faces Victory Christian on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Jackson gets a final four rematch against Villages Charter in Class 3A after handling Newberry 75-60. The Tigers are 28-1.
Providence, behind head coach Jim Martin’s best team since it finished as state runner-up in 2017, trounced First Academy 64-37. The Stallions face Northside Christian on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Class 2A semi.
Bishop Kenny heated up late and bounced Godby 52-42. The Crusaders will face Atlantic on March 10 at 7 p.m. in their first state semifinal since 2016.
Fleming Island stayed red hot and had no trouble with Columbia in a 69-46 win. The Golden Eagles face Tampa Jesuit on March 11 at 1 p.m.
