JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jaguars made a series of moves before the start of the new league year, re-signing Buster Brown and Dennis Gardeck on Monday morning.

According to multiple reports, Brown is getting a three-year, $33 million deal. Terms of Gardeck’s new contract weren’t reported.

Keeping both players was a big priority for the Jaguars, especially Brown. A seventh-round pick in 2022, Brown emerged as one of the team’s top cornerbacks over the last two years. He will likely enter the season as Jacksonville’s starting outside corner opposite Travis Hunter. Had Brown entered free agency, he’d have likely been too pricey for Jacksonville to keep.

“It feels great. It feels unbelievable to get things done and to stay here,” Brown said. “I enjoyed my time here since I’ve been here. Man, we’ve got something special here and just to continue that, it feels great.”

Brown has three interceptions, 166 tackles and 24 pass breakups in his career, and thrived in Anthony Campanile’s system.

Keeping Gardeck was a solid move, too. He signed with the team last summer and became a regular in the rotation at linebacker. Gardeck started eight games and had 37 tackles, six for loss and 2.5 sacks.

“Today I’m just excited to be back in Jacksonville and it’s about being back with a good group of guys both in the locker room and the coaching staff,” Gardeck said.
