JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Travis Etienne era has come to an end in Jacksonville.
According to multiple reports, Etienne will sign with the Saints when the new NFL league year begins on Wednesday. He’s getting a four-year, $52 million deal from the Saints.

Etienne was a first-round pick by the Jaguars in 2021 but missed his rookie season due to a Lisfranc injury. He returned healthy the following season and produced back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing years. Jacksonville bottomed out in 2024 and Etienne had a career-worst 558 rushing yards and two touchdowns in an injury-marred season.
Etienne bounced back in 2025, rushing for 1,107 yards and seven touchdowns while playing on his fifth-year option. He added six receiving touchdowns.
It was unlikely that Jacksonville would bring back Etienne on anything close to what the Saints are reportedly paying him. The Jaguars drafted Bhayshul Tuten and LeQuint Allen last year, and both were promising as rookies.
Once Etienne signs with New Orleans, only Trevor Lawrence (No. 1 overall) and Walker Little (No. 45) will remain from the team’s nine-member 2021 draft class. Little could still be moved at some point before the season.
