Bolles battled until the finish but ended its first flag football season with a tough loss in the state semifinals on Friday.

The Bulldogs pushed Miami Edison to the very end, but dropped a 14-7 game in the Class 1A final four in Tampa Bay.

Kayla Bliss threw a touchdown pass to Patricia Freeman, and Leila Goll had a couple of interceptions on defense for the Bulldogs. Bolles jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead on Edison, but stalled out on offense after that. The Bulldogs had two red zone trips that came up short, and saw the Red Raiders score in the final quarter to snatch away the win.

Bolles ended its first season of flag football with a 17-3 mark.
