JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – University of Florida sophomore hurler Aidan King added to his sterling resume by earning SEC Pitcher of the Year honors on Monday afternoon.

King, a Jacksonville native and Bishop Snyder graduate, is just the fourth Gators pitcher to earn that honor and first since Brady Singer in 2018. King is also a first-teamer on the All-SEC team, and a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award and Dick Howser Trophy. King was the National Pitcher of the Month in April.

King has whiffed 84 batters and walked just 16 in 79.1 innings. He’s 8-2 with a 2.50 ERA heading into the SEC tournament. The sophomore isn’t eligible for the draft until 2027.
