Several scuffles break out between Jaguars, Buccaneers

No description found

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – On day two of their joint practice the Jaguars and Buccaneers had three scuffles. When you factor in the heat and two teams competing to get better these things are bound to happen. It would be a bigger surprise if there weren’t any skirmishes during a joint practice.

Jaguars defensive end Yannick Ngakoue got into a skirmish during the early part of Tuesday’s practice. Things officially turned chippy when Jaguars wide receiver Allen Robinson and Bucs safety Chris Conte got into it during the 7-on-7 portion of practice. The two were separated and there wasn’t anything more than some minor pushing and shoving.

On the very next play Jaguars wide receiver Arrelious Benn wasn’t happy with a hit he received from Bucs outside linebacker Adarius Glanton. This exchange wasn’t nearly as pleasant. Benn threw a punch and had his helmet knocked off during the scuffle.

“I don’t want to sit here and say you expect that because I think that’s wrong,” said Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone. “We don’t want any part of that in our game at any level.”

Practice News and Notes:

-Running back Leonard Fournette didn’t practice but worked out on the side

-Cornerback A.J. Bouye wasn’t seen on the field at all

-Cornerback Jalen Ramsey continued to participate in individual drills only. There was a fun light hearted moment where Ramsey and his former FSU teammate Jameis Winston talked trash back and forth during the 1-on-1 session between DB’s and WR’s.

-Marrone said that he hasn’t decided how long the starters will play on Thursday, but his policy has always been to not share that information publically.

-Former Jets and Bills head coach Rex Ryan and former Raiders and Bucs head coach Tom Gruden were also at practice Tuesday.
