Aleesia is an Emmy Award–winning journalist excited to be back in the city she was raised in.
Over the years, Aleesia has covered major national breaking news, including the Dollar General mass shooting and the shooting at Florida State University. Her reporting has earned multiple honors, including an Emmy Award for her powerful story Invisible Legacy, which spotlighted the women of the historic Six Triple Eight.
Before returning home to Jacksonville, Aleesia worked at WBOY in Clarksburg, West Virginia, as an evening weather forecaster and reporter. While in the Mountain State, she covered everything from the opioid epidemic to severe weather, earning an Associated Press award for her work.
Aleesia is a graduate of the University of Central Florida, where she earned a degree in Radio and Television with a minor in Sports Business Management.
When she’s not working, Aleesia enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and—most of all—cheering on her UCF Knights.
