On Monday, Kirby said about 50 Guard troops had been treated for gastrointestinal issues, out of the 26,000 that deployed to Washington. Police took Fonda into custody as she led a demonstration in front of the U.S. Capitol in Washington. Fonda recently moved to Washington and plans to lead protests every Friday for the rest of the year. She said she was inspired to do so by 16-year-old Swedish environmental activist Thunberg. The daughter of Henry Fonda and ex-wife of Ted Turner, Fonda is arguably as well-known for her activism as her acting career and 1980s fitness empire.
