Florida posted the nation’s highest foreclosure rate in the first half of 2026, with 27,494 properties recording foreclosure filings, ATTOM, a real estate analytics organization, said.

For the first time since the foreclosure crisis in 2010, home sales have dropped to dramatic lows. And climbing interest rates mean some families are being priced out of the market.

During a time in which some people are being furloughed or have lost their jobs altogether, the reality of foreclosure can become a scary thing.
