After years of waiting and despite pushback from some residents, Duval County has a new Medical Examiner’s Office for District 4, located on the city’s Northside off Golfair Road.

St. Johns County officials will soon decide whether to move forward with a 10-year, $13 million plan addressing space needs for various county services, including the court of clerks, supervisor of elections office, comptrollers office, and St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

While it’s not a done deal, work continues and it seems a new Medical Examiner’s office and morgue are going to be built in a Brentwood neighborhood despite a fight from community leaders.

Brentwood residents are continuing to push back against a multi-million dollar medical examiner’s office as they continue the fight against yet another unwanted building that is projected to open in the neighborhood.
