The bloom is off the final rose for “Bachelorette” star Rachel Lindsay and husband Bryan Abasolo, who found love on the reality dating franchise.

The casting was announced Friday on Good Morning America.James, a 28-year-old from North Carolina, was originally chosen to compete for Clare Crawley's affection on The Bachelorette, but filming was scrapped in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. Good Morning America says James founded an organization in New York City that finds creative ways to engage children from underserved areas. The show has been under pressure for years to be more diverse and cast a black "Bachelor."

Even though it's the off season for The Bachelor, Bachelor Nation is making sure to keep the drama going. The back-and-forth even landed Lindsay in another feud, this time with Colton Underwood. Rachel Lindsay and Raven Gates used to be besties -- but it seems that's not the case anymore. And Bachelor Nation is taking sides! "I can't say," Lindsay said when asked what Gates did to cause her change of heart. This question prompted another Bachelor Nation alum to chime in, as Nick Viall commented, "Pretty sure me." Despite meeting while vying for the same guy, Lindsay and Gates have gone on to find love of their own in Bachelor Nation.

The 31-year-old Air Force vet would have been the first black Bachelor. This comes after Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay voiced similar concerns to ET about a lack of diversity in the show's casting. Then in regards to what Rachel was saying, I do agree with Rachel, that after 24 Bachelors, a black Bachelor should have been cast. A white Bachelor could mean more white contestants, and a higher likelihood of a white Bachelorette -- so does the cycle continue? Rachel Lindsay has some thoughts on Peter Weber's Bachelor casting. The newlywed -- who was the first black Bachelorette in 2017 -- said she's sure Weber's season will be "great." "I'm sure they have some reason for not picking him, and I'm going to trust in that, but at the same time, the system isn't working in giving us a Bachelor who is a person of color. Looking at the positives from Weber's season, Lindsay said that his openness is key. Lindsay found love on her season of The Bachelorette, and married her final pick, Bryan Abasolo, last month.

Rachel Lindsay's wedding didn't exactly go off without a hitch. ET Live caught up with the 34-year-old former Bachelorette just weeks after her August wedding to Bryan Abasolo and she dished about the key moment that didn't exactly pan out how she and her groom planned. While Lil Duval's 2018 track, "Smile (Living My Best Life)," wasn't the song Lindsay and Abasolo initially intended, the slight mishap didn't tarnish the day at all. Rachel Lindsay is a Bachelorette no more! TheBachelorette star tied the knot with Bryan Abasolo in a destination wedding at the Royalton Suites Cancn in Mexico on Saturday, per People who was first to report the news. Lindsay is the fourth Bachelorette to marry her final pick, behind Trista Sutter, Rosenbaum and Desiree Siegfried (nee Hartsock). On Wednesday, MTV announced that, along with Travis Mills, Lindsay will host its new show, MTV's Ghosted: Love Gone Missing, which is set to debut in September. "We're traveling the country looking for love gone missing," Lindsay agrees as clips of the series play. Both Mills and Lindsay celebrated the news on social media, with the latter calling it the "BEST WEEK EVER." Bryan Abasolo had a big weekend! The 39-year-old fiance to former Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay took to Instagram to share pics from his bachelor party in Miami, Florida. Loch's comment is likely referring to Lindsay's bachelorette party, where she and other franchise faves, including Kristina Schulman, Whitney Fransway, Alexis Waters and Bibiana Julian, partied in Costa Rica.
