Oregon is a six month old black and white male kitten that the St. Augustine Humane Society trapped in July along with her mother and brother. The owner of the mama cat wanted to keep mama cat but did not want to keep the kittens. Mama cat was called Calli, so we named the two kittens Arizona and Oregon, and we affectionately refer to them as the “State Cats.” We spayed and neutered Calli, Arizona, and Oregon. Mama cat was returned (TNR). Thanks in part to River City Live, Arizona was recently placed in a forever home. We are now hoping to placed Oregon with a forever family. Oregon loves high places and has acclimated to being a domesticated, home kitten. She has been spayed and has all her shots. Meet Lady and Todd - these two pups tragically lost their owner a few days ago and are in desperate need of the perfect home. Ideally together if possible. The last day anyone heard from their owner/dad was June 28 and sadly the dogs were in the home with him for 5-7 days before being discovered. Both dogs are 6 years old, spayed/neutered, and up to date on all their vaccinations through February 2025. Their owner was a devoted dog dad, taking them everywhere, even to places like Publix and their favorite ice cream shop, Dreamette. They were often seen in Avondale, heads out of the car window, wearing sunglasses and sporting booties. They miss him terribly, but are happy and hopeful for their new home!

Jan Nieuwstraten Angel, a master naturalist and part-time West Palm resident, (and mother of RCL Host Jana Angel) along with her brother George, played a crucial role in a sea turtle rescue. While admiring turtles along the beach, they noticed one turtle become trapped in a parking lot after going over a seawall. Jan immediately called the Loggerhead Marine Center, and within 15 minutes, rescue officers arrived. The turtle was safely transported into the ocean, where it was returned after a health assessment, marking a happy ending to the night.
