The "Orange is the New Black" star documented the experience in a social media post Thursday to mark World Mental Health Day. "I've struggled with mental health my entire life," she captioned a photo taken just before her role on the Netflix show. "The pure sad depression without the fun and not so fun parts of mania, it was an overactive thyroid that created that misdiagnosis. On medication, off medication, on and off and on and off per each wrong diagnoses," she wrote.

Ruby Rose is ready to be the hero Gotham deserves. "But once I'm at work, I'm just thinking about Kate and I'm thinking about Batwoman and I'm thinking about all different kinds of things. And now I play a gay character," she explained. I've gotta be Batwoman gay, or Kate Kane gay.' While stepping into her character's sexuality wasn't a pivotal moment for Rose, donning the Batsuit certainly was.

The 33-year-old actress revealed that she herniated two discs while doing stunt work, "and they were close to severing my spinal chord," she wrote. So doctors urged her to have an emergency surgery to correct the problem, or risk being paralyzed. Rose opted for the surgery and accompanied her post with a graphic video of the procedure. Rose said she was left with a "Pez dispenser scar on my neck."
