A new survey by McAfee reveals that Gen Z, despite being tech-savvy, is the most targeted group for AI-driven tax scams, with scammers using fake IRS communications to steal personal information.

The FBI is urging all Android and iPhone users to stop sending text messages to each other after it said Chinese cybercriminals attacked at least eight major U.S. telecom companies.

Some of the State of Florida’s most sensitive records may now be in the hands of cyber criminals. The group says it’s going to release 100 gigabytes of data from the Florida Dept. of Health (F-DOH), unless the state pays up.

Every day more and more people become victims of cyber-attacks. According to Astra Security, there are 2,200 a day or one every 39 seconds. Experts say taking a few extra safety steps could help prevent it from happening to you.

Pro tip: Always use your credit card instead of your debit card. If hackers break into retail databases, debit cards give direct access to your banking account.

“It is the world’s largest work from home experiment,” said Chris Freedman, founder of OnDefend, a cyber security services provider. “In the business world, you can walk around the corner and say, ‘Joe, did you send me that email?’" he said. To show how easy it is for scammers to prey on people, Steeghs created a phishing email, or an email that’s intended to look like it came from someone else in hopes that the recipient will be duped. For his example, Steeghs made the email look like it came from Amazon, a popular place to shop online. Whenever you receive an email and there’s a link attached, hover over the link but don’t click it.
