Jacksonville’s City Council unanimously approved an amendment that appropriated $137,000 for the Homeward Bound Program, which helps unhoused residents return to their hometowns or reunite with family.

Monday morning, Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan unveiled the city’s new plan to mitigate homelessness and address Florida HB 1365, the new state law that makes it illegal to sleep in public spaces and goes into effect on October 1.
