Block around LaVilla middle school reopens Police closed 4 streets surrounding LaVilla School of the Arts No description found
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Traffic in the LaVilla area was blocked off at four intersections for nearly two hours Tuesday by Duval County School Police and the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
West Beaver and West Duval streets were closed from North Jefferson to North Davis streets, and Jefferson and Davis streets were closed between Duval and Beaver streets as well.
The block surrounds LaVilla School of the Arts.
Duval County school officials reported the school was evacuated because of a bomb threat. Police investigated the threat and cleared the school.
