JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man died and another was hospitalized after a semi hauling a large, industrial forklift crashed into the trees along Interstate 295 in Northwest Jacksonville, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened about 3 p.m. on southbound I-295 at Dunn Avenue.
I-295 southbound was closed to all traffic starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday while the forklift was removed.
Traffic was diverted onto Dunn Avenue and detoured toward U.S. 1.
The highway reopened just after 11 a.m., much earlier than expected.

According to FHP, Egyed lost control of the tractor trailer, drove off the road into a wooded area and hit a tree. It's unclear what caused him to lose control.
