JACKSONVILLE, Fla – A 20-year-old Jacksonville man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Tuesday evening near the St. Johns Town Center, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
It happened about 5:30 p.m. on southbound Interstate 295 near Town Center Parkway.
According to the Highway Patrol, Zachary Carlson was driving a Chevrolet Camaro south on I-295 when he attempted to change lanes and lost control of the vehicle due to the wet roadway. Troopers said the Camaro then rotated several times before colliding with a concrete sign base on the right shoulder.
Carlson died at the scene, troopers said.
