Arlington Expressway reopens after 2 officer-involved crashes
Minor injuries reported in crashes at Southside Connector
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – All eastbound lanes on Arlington Expressway were shut down for hours early Sunday morning after two officer-involved crashes near the Southside Connector.
According to Jacksonville Sheriff's Officers, a car had a tire blow out on the eastbound lanes of the expressway earlier in the morning about 4 a.m. and an officer responded.
While waiting with the disabled vehicle for a tow truck, another vehicle crashed into the police cruiser.
The officer was taken to a hospital and has since been released.
Later, another JSO officer was responding to the first crash on the westbound lanes when that cruiser got into a crash with another car.
Officers conducted DUI tests, but said everyone involved in both crashes OK at this time.
