FHP investigates deadly crash on Mathews Bridge Mathews Bridge blocked at off at ramp to MLK Expressway No description found
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. â The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a vehicle crash on the west end of the Mathews Bridge about 3:15 a.m. Friday.
According to FHP, a person died when a Toyota Corolla left the road and struck a tree on the ramp from the bridge the Martin Luther King Jr. Expressway. The driver died at the scene.
Crews blocked one westbound while troopers investigated the crash. The ramp was reopened just before 6 a.m.
Troopers have not yet released the name of the person killed.
